A COLLECTION OF MEDALS

The collection consists of: orders, medals, plaques, badges, military insignia, charters of decoration, diplomas and they date from the second half of the 19th century and the 20th century. It contains both domestic and foreign medals. The collected material testifies, mainly, to the recognitions that were awarded to people from this area. The collected items are important for the political, economic and social history of Jagodina and the surrounding area. Among the significant medals is certainly the Order of Cross of Takovo of the 2nd degree, with which Aleksandar I Obrenović decorated the Jagodina lawyer Stevan Malenović in 1901. The Order of the Star of Karađorđe of the 4th degree, which was established in 1904, also has an important place. Merchant Stevan Miljković, corporal of the Jagodina light battery, for his courage in the Second Serbian-Turkish War of 1877-1878 was awarded a silver medal for bravery, as evidenced by the Certificate issued in Niš on August 29, 1878.
