EXHIBITION CATALOG

Collecting items for museum collections, as one of the basic tasks of museums, is done in different ways, and through purchases, gifts or legacies, museums communicate in a specific way with the community, which thus actively joins the work on protection and preservation of cultural heritage. Acquisition exhibitions are an opportunity for both the professional and the general public to get acquainted with the work of the museum, the content of the collections and in this way to express gratitude to all donors. In 2013, the Regional Museum of Jagodina organized an exhibition of acquisitions “New – Old”, which exhibited new acquisitions from 2002 to 2013. With a new exhibition of acquisitions called “Gifts of the Past”, organized as part of the “Museums for 10” event in 2019, we continued with this presentation of museum activities and presented those items that became part of the collections of the Regional Museum History, Archaeology, Ethnology, History and Art.

The objects exhibited at the exhibition “Gifts of the Past – acquisitions of the Regional Museum of Jagodina 2013 – 2019” in their own way speak about the history of this area and the lives of the people who inhabited it. The exhibition itself, as a special form of communication between the Museum and the local community, is an opportunity to mention all those donors who have contributed and supported our work. At the same time, it is an invitation to our fellow citizens to continue our cooperation, with the goal of preserving the past of our homeland from oblivion for generations to come.

The exhibition presents 194 items donated to the Regional Museum of Jagodina by the following donors: Aleksandra Čirkin, born Obradović (Austria), Branislav Petrović (village of Lozovik near Jagodina ), Vasilije Nikolić (Jagodina), Verica Kolarik (Jagodina), Vidosava Mladenović (Jagodina), Vlastimir Simić (Jagodina), Dragan Jovanović (Kocino selo), Dragutin Stojiljković (Jagodina), Đorđe Filipović (Jagodina), Đura Rašić (Orlovat), Živorad Đorđević (Jagodina), Zorica Nikić (Jagodina), Jelena Stojanović (Jagodina), Ljiljana Petrović , born Popović and Goran Popović (Bagrdan), Marselina Ilić (Belgrade), Mirjana Marković (Jagodina), Mlađan Stošić (Jagodina), Radica Simić (Jagodina), Radmila Mančić (Jagodina), Radmila Stamenković (Jagodina), Radojka Veselinović (Majur), Saša Milojević (Jagodina), Elementary school in the village of Voljavče, Elementary school “Stevan Sinđelić” in the village of Vojska, Public company “Standard” from Jagodina.
