These rocks best illustrate geodiversity and long geological history of the area representing the oldest mainland of Serbia, in which Jagodina is situated. The collection includes specimens of &#8220;primeval&#8221; schists &#8211; mica schists, quartzite, marble, which formed the mountain massifs of Juhor and Crni vrh during the Proterozoic before more than 540 million years ago. The largest part of Pomoravlje, however, is covered by much younger geological formations, whose samples also make up an important part of this collection. One should point out the specimens of sedimentary rocks formed in the Miocene lakes before 15 million years ago, such is the onyx from Lozovik, as well as the samples of the Pleistocene loess sediments several hundred thousand years old, whose profiles can be seen on the northern rims of Juhor mountain.<\/p><p><em>Curator: <a href=\"https:\/\/jagodina.museum\/en\/team\/nevena-cvetkovic\/\"
