With the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Regional Museum Jagodina has published the complete Catalogue of its Icon Collection. The catalogue was prepared within a project that also includes the forthcoming opening of an exhibition of the Icon Collection. On that occasion, the collection will be presented to the public in its full scope for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>

Many years of professional work on the documentation, study, conservation, and restoration of the icons have resulted in a catalogue that, for the first time, provides a comprehensive overview of this valuable segment of the cultural heritage preserved by the Regional Museum Jagodina.<\/p>

The catalogue, authored by art historian Dr Branislav Cvetkovi\u0107<\/a>, museum advisor at the Regional Museum Jagodina, comprises 104 pages and has been printed in an edition of 300 copies. This publication represents the fifth volume in the Museum\u2019s series of collection catalogues, following the previously published catalogues of the Collection of Hilandar Manuscript Fragments, the Collection of Guild Letters, the Glass Collection, and the Legacy of painter Nikola Milojevi\u0107.<\/p>

The Icon Collection is one of the oldest museum collections of the Regional Museum Jagodina. Over time, it has been enriched through donations and acquisitions, and today it comprises 32 icons of various themes, chronological periods, and techniques. The majority of the objects are works by Serbian and Balkan icon painters of the 19th century, while several larger-format icons were created by Russian and Ukrainian masters of the 18th and 19th centuries. The catalogue is particularly significant as it provides a complete scholarly treatment of the entire collection, including numerous icons that have not been previously published.<\/p>

In addition to scholarly texts and analyses, the publication contains detailed catalogue entries and reproductions of all icons from the collection. Alongside basic object data, it includes photographs of the reverse sides of the icons, documentation images taken prior to conservation and restoration, as well as references to previous publications and relevant literature, making the catalogue an important resource for further research in sacred art.<\/p>

The publication is distinguished by its high-quality printing, carried out by the printing house \u201cZlatna knjiga\u201d, with which the Museum has maintained a successful collaboration for almost a decade. The graphic design was created by \u0110or\u0111e Filipovi\u0107, whose design solution contributed to the catalogue\u2019s clarity and representative appearance.<\/p>

By publishing the Catalogue of the Icon Collection, the Regional Museum Jagodina continues its mission of researching, preserving, and presenting the cultural heritage of the Pomoravlje region, making it more accessible to researchers, professionals, and the wider public.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
