On Monday, September 30, at 7 p.m., a ceremony will be held in the Regional Museum of Jagodina on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our institution. Over the past seven decades, the Regional Museum has developed from a city museum based on the collection of Dušan Duja Vukićević, the first manager, into a regional institution that stores over 10,000 objects within the Natural History, Archeology, Ethnology, History and Art departments. Over the past 70 years, the curators of the Regional Museum of Jagodina have organized over 400 exhibitions and published a large number of professional and scientific works, while the Museum is the publisher of around 70 publications and exhibition catalogs.
All this work would not have been possible if it were not for collaborators, donors and friends of the Museum, to whom we will present certificates of appreciation at the ceremony, and this year, for the first time, the charter of the Regional Museum of Jagodina will be awarded.
At this ceremony, another anniversary will be marked: 50 years of living and working in Jagodina of the academic artist Sretko Divljan. On this occasion, professor Divljan will open an independent exhibition entitled “50 years of divljanism”.
The string quartet of the School for Musical Talents in Ćuprija, as well as the orchestra of the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences, will perform as guests at the anniversary of the Museum.
