In the period from May 14 to May 20, 2022, the manifestation “Museums for 10” was held in museums and cultural institutions in Serbia. As every year, the Regional Museum of Jagodina has prepared a diverse program. The event began with the exhibition “The Birth of Glassmaking in Serbia: Glass from the Collections of the Regional Museum of Jagodina”, with which the Museum joined the celebration of the International Year of Glass.
During the European Museum Night, the working hours of the Regional Museum of Jagodina were from 10 am to 1 am, and visitors could see the exhibition and the permanent exhibition. During the event, the working hours of the Museum were from 8 am to 9 pm.
On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm, a creative workshop “Magic Jar” was held for children of different ages and their parents. The aim of the workshop was to develop creativity and artistic expression through entertainment and raise awareness about environmental protection by recycling glass, as well as by recycling other materials.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 7 pm, we marked the International Museum Day by promoting representative editions of the Regional Museum of Jagodina published in the period from 2018 to 2021, thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. The authors and editors of these editions spoke at the promotion, and the promotion was followed by a lottery in which the six happiest visitors received the promoted editions as a gift.
On Thursday, May 19, 2022, a lecture “From the collections of the Regional Museum of Jagodina – World War I in the war diaries of Dušan Dodić and Vojislav Marjanović” was held at the Elementary School “Boško Đuričić” in Jagodina for school students.
On the same day, a workshop “Creative waste” was held in the Regional Museum from 6 to 8 pm, intended for children of preschool and school age. New items were created from recyclable materials. In this way, the children learned about the values of recycling and its benefits.
During the event, all visitors to the Regional Museum of Jagodina were able to participate in the photo competition “Photography in the Museum” – FUM 2022, whose goal was to popularize cultural heritage and affirm photography. The theme of the contest was “The Power of the Museum – the Regional Museum of Jagodina in the Lens of Jagodina Photographers”. From the received photos, the jury chose those that will be displayed in a virtual exhibition on the Museum’s website, which will be posted on June 1, 2022, and the author of the best photo was awarded the latest editions of the the Regional Museum of Jagodina.
