The Regional Museum is proud to inform the public that the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia has approved financial resources for the implementation of three of our projects, which once again confirms the importance of our institution in the preservation of cultural heritage and the development of contemporary museological practices. The total value of the support is 1,501,000 RSD.

The projects that received support are:

  • “Jerinin grad” in Staro Selo near Jagodina – processing of documentation and materials (funding amount: 600,000 RSD)

“Jerinin grad” is designated as an immovable cultural asset – an archaeological site and represents a very significant multi-layered hill fortification. The commission supported the project because the processing of documentation and materials from the excavations conducted in the period from 1985 to 1988 under the leadership of Professor Dragoslav Srejović, from this archaeological site is significant and will contribute to its better understanding and later presentation.

  • Milovan Miloradović (1885–1928) – agricultural expert, reserve officer, amateur photographer (funding amount: 550,000 RSD)

The project aims to present to the public the versatile life and work of Milovan Miloradović. He was an agricultural expert, a reserve officer in the First World War and a passionate amateur photographer, whose work left a deep mark on the cultural and social past of the city. The project will include an exhibition that will depict his life and various aspects of his work, with a special focus on his war diary, which will be published for the first time. The Ministry of Culture Commission recognized the importance of this project as an important contribution to the preservation of local history and cultural heritage, but also as a valuable interpretation of events from the First World War period through the personal prism of an engaged individual.

  • Collection of Icons in the Regional Museum of Jagodina (funding amount: 351,000 RSD)

With this project, the Regional Museum of Jagodina is preparing an exhibition and accompanying catalog of the collection of icons, with the aim of providing experts and the general public with insight into the valuable museum material. The special importance of the project is reflected in the fact that the publication includes the entire paleographic corpus, which contributes not only to scientific valorization, but also to the long-term protection of icons as cultural property.

The funds were approved as part of the annual competitions of the Ministry of Culture for financing and co-financing projects in the field of protection and digitization of cultural heritage in the Republic of Serbia in 2025.

This support represents an important step towards improving the work of our institution, modernizing exhibition content, publishing materials, as well as better accessibility of cultural content to a wider audience.

We thank the Ministry of Culture for the trust shown and the recognized quality of our ideas. By implementing these projects, we continue to build a bridge between the past and the present, striving to make culture and knowledge accessible to everyone.

All information about the progress of the projects will be published on our website and social networks in a timely manner.
