The Regional Museum of Jagodina marked the great and significant jubilee – one hundred years since the end of the First World War in a dignified way with the realization of the project “Century of the Great War 1918-2018”. This project was done in cooperation with the Museum-Public University Trstenik. The project, whose authors are historians Jelena Vukčević (Museum-National University Trstenik) and Duško Grbović (Regional Museum of Jagodina), consiste of an exhibition about Dušan Dodić, the liberator of Jagodina in 1918 and a publication in which his war diary was published. This diary is kept in Regional Museum of Jagodina. Unselfish help in the realization of this project was provided by prof. Veljko Milutinović, Ph.D., the only grandson of Dusan Dodić. The project was financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.
Based on the material collected and presented by this exhibition and publication, and in cooperation with the Archive Media group of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, University of Niš and the Mathematical Institute of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Belgrade), an application was made showing the life of Dusan Dodić, a manuscript of a war diary and an exhibition about Jagodina in the First World War. The application contains segments: Manuscript of the war diary of Dušan Dodić, War diary by pages, About the war diary, Publications, Family memories, Jagodina in the First World War.
The main goal in creating the application was to make the exhibition and the book about Dušan Dodić and Jagodina in the First World War available to the general public. At the same time, in this way, the Museum is actively involved in the process of digitization of cultural heritage, which, in addition to the availability of information, also ensures the preservation and protection of cultural assets.
The application “Dušan Dodić: Ratni dnevnik” is free and can be downloaded via QR code or via the App Store or Google Play store.
