After Jagodina, Trstenik, Ćuprija, Staro Selo, Prokuplje, Aleksinac, Vršac, Kragujevac, the exhibition “General Dušan Dodić – hero of the Great War” arrived in Vrnjačka Banja. It was installed in the premises of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism in Vrnjačka Banja, which is part of the University of Kragujevac, and was opened on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. The exhibition was realized by Duško Grbović, historian (Regional museum of Jagodina) and Jelena Vukčević, historian (the Museum Collection of the People’s University of Trstenik).
As part of the program of the opening of the exhibition, the promotion of the book about Dušan Dodić and his war diary was arranged. The editors are Jelena Vukčević and Duško Grbović. Part of the text in the book was also written by professor Veljko Milutinović, Phd who is the son of Dušan’s daughter Simonida. The dean of the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism, professor Drago Cvijanović, Phd, rector of the University of Kragujevac, professor Nenad Filipović, Phd, Ninoslav Stanojlović, historian from Jagodina, and authors Jelena Vukčević, Duško Grbović and Veljko Milutinović.
The opening of the exhibition and the promotion of the book were attended by professors and students of the aforementioned faculty. In 2014, the idea of realizing an exhibition and a book was born and it was realized through the project “The Century of the Great War 1918-2018”, which was realized in 2018 with the cooperation of the Regional Museum of Jagodina and the Museum Collection of the People’s University of Trstenik. The project was financed, at that time, by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. The exhibition lasts until May 22, 2023.
