It was with disbelief and regret that we received the news that Milica Stanojević, a former employee of the Regional Museum of Jagodina, and in the period from December 21, 2004 to March 4, 2009, the director, died suddenly after a short illness on the night between January 13 and 14.
She was born in 1956 in the village of Kaludra in the municipality of Rekovac. She completed elementary school and high school in Jagodina, and graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Kragujevac. Her first job was in the Cable Industry, where she performed managerial duties in the sector for the sale of cables on the domestic market.
She came to the management position in the Regional Museum of Jagodina from production activities and was in a dilemma whether accepting this position was a good decision. Soon, her exceptional abilities and extensive experience in managerial affairs came to the fore. She tried to realize every idea of the curator s and provide financial support for all museum activities. The period of her management of our institution was marked by extremely rich exhibition activity, which was a direct consequence of her personal involvement in securing finances and good organization of affairs. During this period, working conditions were significantly improved, among other things, new computer and photo equipment was purchased, as well as metal furniture for housing museum documentation and paper objects.
As the director, Milica Stanojević especially fostered cooperation with other cultural institutions. Accompanied by a curator of our Museum, she regularly visited the opening of exhibitions of other museums. She had the exceptional ability to welcome and host colleagues and all other guests of our institution as befits. All those who visited the Regional Museum at the time when Milica was director of our institution still remember very nice moments and the reception they had during their visit to Jagodina and our museum.
After being dismissed from the position of director, Milica continued to work in the Regional Museum as the head of auxiliary services and again showed how good an organizer she was and responsible in carrying out assigned tasks. The curators had her continuous support and help during the implementation of each activity.
We will remember her as an energetic, positive and communicative person, ready to help anyone in any situation. Her family lost a devoted daughter, a caring wife and mother and beloved grandmother of three grandchildren, so we express our deepest condolences. The name of Milica Stanojević will be remembered in the best light by her colleagues, associates and friends of our institution.
