COLLECTION OF PAINTINGS

The Collection of Paintings consists mostly of works by local artists which came to the museum as redemption prizes at the exhibitions of the Club of Fine Artists Svetozarevo, later Jagodina, and which were regularly held from the 1960s until the end of the first decade of the 21st century. The collection also contains the legacies of Živan Vulić (1911 – 2006), an academic painter born in the village of Staro Lanište near Jagodina, and Nikola Milojević (1865 – 1942), the first known educated painter from Jagodina, who was bequeathed to the Regional Museum of Jagodina by Živan Vulić in 1980. The museum also preserves the legacies of the painter Milica Dinić (1925-1999) and the prematurely deceased Jagodina artist Miodrag Filipović (1966-1991). The collection also includes works donated to the Regional Museum of Jagodina by the Republic Association of Culture in 1979, whose authors are prominent Yugoslav artists of the second half of the 20th century, such as Emir Dragulj, Vera Božičković-Popović, Željko Đurović, Živko Đak, Franc Curk etc.
